$95.00

This Standard Edition print comes from the project The Last Forest. This scene was captured in 2021.

Standard Edition prints are printed on archival papers in the most advanced modern inks. All prints come in an archival protective slip. Standard Edition prints are designed to be as comfortable magnetised to a fridge, as they are protected in a frame or collectors folder.

The print, including border, has a dimension of 29.7cm W x 21cm H (A4).

Paper: Ilford, Gold Fibre Gloss.

Camera: Voigtlander Bessa R4 Series (35mm Film).

Handling Remarks: This print may have small ink marks at the corners. This occurs during the printing process due to particular qualities in paper thickness and paper curvature. These marks are left as they fall and seen as the influence of external forces that exert themselves on the creative process. They are the qualities of life, that require all things to retain a certain unpredictability, and individuality beyond the intentions of mind and mechanical process.

EXTENDED DESCRIPTION.

There are spaces in society where all those social rules of conduct break away. Typically, in spaces of anonymity, but not only. Toilets are one such place.

Strangely, toilets in Australian society have become sites of government public campaigns, such as those that describe the rules of how to use a toilet combined with the rules of social conduct around short skirts. Apparently, those living near the sites of the Last Forest, are in need of these lessons?

We always unveil our truths, and when in anonymity they usually come hard and fast, and with a permanent marker in this case. But, who -I always wonder- carries around a permeant marker to make such statements of personal views in toilet blocks?

It seems here, we have encountered a wonderful dichotomy of the mind, body and instinct matrix; of it’s no’s, and of yes’s.

Image Text:

“No | Yes”.

“A short skirt doesn’t mean ‘yes’.”

“It means look but don’t touch.“
